Labrador has 32 recognized communities of various status. The largest in terms of population is Happy Valley - Goose Bay with 7970 during the last census and the smallest is L'anse Amour with a reported 15 residents.

There is 1 private town called Churchill Falls and operated by the Churchill Falls Labrador Coporation.

There are 20 municipalities incorporated with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador who charge taxes and provide municipal services.

There are 5 local service districts that are incorporated with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador who don't charge taxes but fees for specific services like garbage collection.

Then there are 4 other very small communities that are not incorporated.
