The Combined Councils of Labrador is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Executive Director. The Combined Councils of Labrador is a non-profit organization representing the 32 communities in Labrador.

The organization is involved in a range of activities including advocacy for Labrador community issues, the delivery of programs and services, event organization and liaison with other municipal organizations.

Individuals must be multi-facet in a variety of activities. It will be important to possess a thorough understanding of Labrador issues, communications, public and government relations, as the primary activity is the advocacy of community resolutions. In pursuit of this activity individuals must be self-starters, exert initiative and be able to cope with a variety of strong and differing views on topics. It is vital the person understand the different complex issues by region yet understand the bigger Labrador as a whole picture.

Secondary is the ability to manage financial records, manage an office with limited additional staff, strong organization skills to handle the variety of activities and experience planning for major conferences. Annually the organization holds a socio-economic conference with delegates from all of Labrador and Newfoundland.

The CCL office will be located in a Labrador Community where the successful applicant resides.

Salary will be based on experience and suitability for the position.
